Arriving & getting aroundPlan the whole journey.

Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang are different airports, linked by surface transport. Copy the airport code into every transfer booking. If changing airports, leave time for baggage, border formalities and the road journey. Arrange a direct trip to your accommodation before scheduling a first introduction; arriving tired is a poor moment to negotiate a deal.

Choosing where to stayChoose for the trip you are making.

Compare a hotel near your meetings with one near a useful BTS station. Check the station entrance and the final walk, not just the property's 'near BTS' description. For a riverside stay, confirm a road pickup alternative instead of relying entirely on a hotel boat. Ask reception not to disclose your room or confirm your presence to callers.

Meetings & transactionsDecide the boundaries before you meet.

Use a busy, staffed café or hotel lounge, with your own ride home. A last-minute invitation to an apartment, parked car or private room changes the arrangement: reschedule. If someone presents an exchange or broker as licensed, check the Thai SEC information yourself. A public venue does not make an in-person cash trade safe.

Family & longer staysMake the arrangements work for everyone.

Have an assistant save hotel and meeting addresses in Thai as well as English. Give family members separate pickup instructions and a backup transport option. Avoid publishing a daily school, gym or breakfast routine; predictable locations disclose more than an old holiday photograph.
