Arriving & getting aroundPlan the whole journey.

SFO connects to BART through the airport's AirTrain system and publishes separate taxi and ride-app pickup instructions. Choose the option that fits your luggage and final destination, then follow the current terminal directions. Go to the accommodation before a sightseeing or networking stop. San Francisco Police specifically advises visitors to leave luggage at the hotel instead of in a car.

Choosing where to stayChoose for the trip you are making.

Compare a city base with the actual Peninsula addresses in your calendar before committing to repeated cross-region trips. Choose a property with a workable late return and a clear luggage arrangement. A rental car is transport, not storage: keep travel documents, work devices and anything that connects your identity to your assets out of it when parked.

Meetings & transactionsDecide the boundaries before you meet.

A warm introduction from a founder still needs a verified address and an independent way home. Start in a staffed café or office; moving to a private house is optional. Keep product demonstrations separate from your real wallet. If a demo needs funding, arrange the amount and account beforehand instead of exposing the portfolio you normally use.

Family & longer staysMake the arrangements work for everyone.

When combining business with a family holiday, avoid an airport-to-attraction stop with everyone's bags in the vehicle. Let the hotel hold luggage first. Give family their own transport plan and keep the day's business addresses separate. A change of meeting location should not require relatives to wait with luggage in an unfamiliar parking area.
