Taiwan / BEFORE YOU GO

Taipei

Sort out the airport and the address. Keep the business introduction small.

Local incidents
01

Taoyuan and Songshan are different airports.

02

Save the building entrance in Chinese.

03

Meet the person before deciding whether to do business.

Arriving & getting aroundPlan the whole journey.

Confirm TPE Taoyuan or TSA Songshan on the itinerary and transfer booking. Taoyuan has airport MRT, bus and taxi options into the wider city network. If using rail, plan the final leg from the station to your hotel rather than treating “Taipei Main” as the doorstep. Keep the address available without mobile data.

Choosing where to stayChoose for the trip you are making.

Choose a base near your actual work, whether that is Xinyi, Zhongshan or another district. Compare the whole walking route, not only the distance on a map. For an apartment, ask who receives visitors and deliveries. A staffed property may be simpler when an assistant, family and business guests have different schedules.

Meetings & transactionsDecide the boundaries before you meet.

Use a booked café or hotel lounge for a first introduction; keep the guest list fixed and your transport independent. If someone adds a cash exchange, wallet check or visit to a private office, treat it as a new proposal you can decline. Shared language and a mutual chat group are not verification.

Family & longer staysMake the arrangements work for everyone.

Agree a fixed reunion point before a night-market visit and keep a second adult able to pay and navigate. Take extra care crossing roads around scooters. Check official weather notices before out-of-town excursions; give the family a simple alternative day if a typhoon changes transport or closes attractions.
