WHALE SAFETY FIELD GUIDE

Add evidence from experts and communities

This edition incorporates four briefing images supplied by a security expert partner and further reading on Reddit, Bitcointalk and V2EX. Receiving case material does not mean the expert has reviewed or endorsed this guide. Keep itineraries, addresses and custody details in separate restricted records.

How the material was used

Partner material: received on 28 October 2026, covering physical coercion and cases in Asia and Europe. Original compilation dates, case by case sources and final investigative outcomes were not supplied. Three cases were selected: a home abduction in France, an attack on family members in Paris and a trading related abduction in Hong Kong. Official statements or named news reporting corroborate the basic facts presented here. Other entries were not included as established facts.

Community material: nine public threads, including their main posts and visible relevant replies, were read to identify overlooked problems. Authors' identities, loss amounts and technical causes were not independently verified. No private groups were joined, participants contacted, suspicious code run or recommended services evaluated.

Keep an evidence record

Record the original link, event and publication dates, place, evidence type, supported facts, uncertainties, proposed chapter changes and reviewer. Reposts of one story are not independent corroboration. Votes, photographs and transaction hashes alone do not establish the complete narrative.

Distinguish official statements, news reporting, personal accounts and this guide's recommendations. Selection is influenced by language, publicity and search availability. These cases cannot establish comparative crime rates for cities, ethnic groups or nationalities. Take the risk seriously without turning isolated cases into prevalence claims.

Ask the expert to review

  1. Whether any action under coercion could increase danger, including risks to relatives and signers.
  2. Whether home entry, vehicle boarding and pickups allow concerns to be detected and help obtained in practice.
  3. Whether local legal, transport and protection assumptions hold; refer specialist questions to the appropriate professional.
  4. Whether a nontechnical family member can use the quick cards, recording the first step they cannot complete.

Use one feedback format: chapter / evidence and date / applicability / unintended effects / suggested wording / reviewer. Do not submit private keys, recovery words, actual balances or complete backup locations.
