Violent cash deal; later allegations complicate the account

6 Jun 2018Disputed allegations
DOCUMENTED ACCOUNT

What the record says

Milan Police initially reported a planned €2.25 million bitcoin-for-cash transaction ending in assault on 6 June 2018, following an exchange described as seven bitcoin for €50,000. Two men were arrested. In February 2020, Corriere della Sera linked this confrontation to a later fraud investigation and arrest of the seller, reporting allegations that apparently successful introductory trades and misleading transaction screens were used to win buyers’ confidence. This later account complicates the original portrayal of the parties.

Outcomes, kept separate

People

Assault reported; long-term medical outcome unknown.

Assets / reported demand

The initial police account described €50,000 being taken. Later allegations complicate the underlying transactions; final net losses and recoveries are not established here.

Investigation / legal status

LIMITS & CORRECTIONS

What remains unsettled

The initial police release is not the final account. Corriere’s 2020 follow-up links the June confrontation to later fraud allegations involving the seller. This register does not resolve the parties’ roles, every transaction detail or final criminal liability. The later allegations do not justify the reported violence.
